In February 2022, Southend became a city at a ceremony attended by the then Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at Southend Civic Centre. As part of the celebrations, we were commissioned to make a short film packed with a diverse selection of Southend’s residents and community groups. It was a quick turnaround; in seventeen days we researched, cast all contributors, planned, and undertook the filming, creating the final edit in time to be shown at the ceremony. We hope the film is a portrait of everything that makes Southend such an eclectic and exciting place to live.
