Over the last three years, we’ve made five fostering recruitment films for Action for Children, with carers and adopters up and down the country. In each, a carer has spoken directly to camera and we’ve used location b-roll to illustrate their story and provide a window into their motivations for fostering. The direct to camera approach uses our Interrotron system for a powerful connection between the subject and the audience. In all cases, we’ve created multiple social versions of the content to work in both square and vertical aspect ratios, with cutdown versions for YouTube ads and paid social campaigns. In every instance, the performance of these real stories created multiple enquiries from new prospective carers.
